Re: burger 400

Interesting...I suspected as much. Though of course, older Tmaxs might weigh a little more, but the current Burger 400 is somewhat more svelte than the previous model. Some older Tmaxs (especially ones with the chain drive) have a bit of sticktion in the drive train which doesn't help pushing it aro...

Re: burger 400

I wouldn't have thought that a Burger 400 (esp 2012 model) would be much lighter than a Tmax, and its as huge as the Burgman 650! Whatever floats your boat of course....

Re: I cant wait to get rid of the Malossi variator!

14g rollers! Wow! No wonder it revs its nuts off! I think the combo of the Malossi variator and Dr Pulley could be serious fun! I think whoever owned your TMax before you might have been a case of 'all the gear, no idea'...lots of extras and mods, but necessarily the ones you'd pick. I think I might...

Re: T Max insurance

£800 does sound far too much, I think I pay £250 for two Tmaxs and think that's too much, but as others have said, it depends on how much NCB you've got, where you live, any accidents or convictions, CCJs, etc etc. If you've got no NCB, a conviction for dangerous driving and live in a rough bit of L...

Do you mean in a documentary sense, or visually? Visually, there are lots of little differences, but the bigger differences are that the mk6 17-18 model has smaller more aggressive headlights and a narrower drive belt. Both have USD forks.

Re: T max 17 or 18

Tricky!!! In theory, nothing at all - no changes that I'm aware of between 2017 & 2018 models. My first guess is that the '2017' model isn't actually a 2017 model but an unregistered 2016 model (in other words a mk5 rather than mk6). Yamaha do seem to have a large stock of previous versions to s...

Re: Best current scooter tyre overall ?

Yes...an interesting case (well, I thought it was interesting!) was Bridgestone TH01 tyres (often found on Burgman 650s) but were also very good on the mk2 Tmax. The mk3 came with much sportier feeling B.stone BT11/12s if I remember correctly. However, I did at one stage put on a set of TH01s on the...

Re: I cant wait to get rid of the Malossi variator!

Are you going to revert to the original variator? A combo of Malossi variator and Dr Pulley sliding roller thingies would be interesting!!! And loud... onlookers should be afraid, very afraid!
