Re: T-Max Mk4 front tyre wear (again...)

If I recall correctly, the Kymco AK550 comes with Metzeler tyres from the factory, so as the AK550 is supposed to have very sharp handling, they must be pretty good!

Re: T-Max Mk4 front tyre wear (again...)

My mk3 has metzeler feelfree tyres, the front has hardly worn except some slight cupping whereas I had to replace the rear due to squaring off. Its used almost daily and I like to 'make progress'. They aren't expensive tyres and I really rate them highly both in the wet and dry for grip, feedback a...

Re: Is NC750X a worthy alternative to a maxi?

As opinion on the bumps handling on the 650 seems so mixed, I wonder if there was a point some improvements were made ? A chap on one stopped next to me out here in the moors a few weeks ago and mumbled on about the poor roads and how bad it felt, mind you it looked like a pretty recent one. I don`...

Re: T-Max Mk4 front tyre wear (again...)

To an extent its a characteristic of later Tmaxs (at least from mk4 on) that the front tyre seems to wear more than the rear. Several people have mentioned it. I've recently noticed that the front tyre on the mk6 is in the autumn of its life, whilst the rear still looks OK.

Re: Is NC750X a worthy alternative to a maxi?

I can't comment on the Integra's ride quality as I've never ridden one, only the X-ADV briefly, who's ride was OK, but on the firm side. IMHO the Burger 650's ride isn't great - its fine on main roads, but on country lanes (let alone cobbles!) the ride seriously disintegrates. This was the mk1 versi...

Re: New Xmax 300

Can anyone help with the running in period...... Normally up to 600 miles (1st service) then have a little restraint for a further 1000 miles approx. The book usually says something like sticking to 4000rpm which would be pretty useless as it would limit you to 40mph - don't worry about that, just ...

Re: New Xmax 300

Interesting. The 400 does weigh as much as a Tmax! On paper the 300 looked pretty good - not a lot less power with a lot less weight - but you can never tell. Your tests seem to confirm the theory!

Re: T-Max Mk4 front tyre wear (again...)

I only had the problem with the Bridgestone SC Eco - never had the problem with the non-Eco Bridgestone SCs or the Michelin Power Pures. Didn't have the Michelin PR4s long enough to see how they wore, though they were fine when I sold it. B.stone are now selling SC2s, for those with deep pockets. Ne...
