Re: NC750X DCT

My first ride on my NC750S gave me 92mpg, this was about as slow as I will ever ride it. It has pilot road 4 new tyres fitted and national speed limits observed, one S mode overtake was needed to get passed tractors. Enjoyed the bikes qualities and my jet type helmet fitted easily in the dummy tank.

Re: belts (again).

I wouldn't bother changing it before the mileage, my original silvering belt was 6 years old and 16000 miles of use, nothing wrong with it when I checked it out, no width wear and no cracks showing, so my conclusion was it was a waste of time and money, other than cleaning the case filter. They are ...

A 'failed impacted wisdom tooth removal', you must be over qualified to become a member of the ugly bunch, got any pictures of your boat race so I can scare away the Halloween callers.

Re: NC750X DCT

Sounds complicated, is the DCT better or worse than CVT Yes or No.
Reason for the question I'm going to be riding one in traffic for the first time. My Silverwing is good, so I don't want any rider input.

Re: Contemplating 1st ever Scooter.

I was on that forum when I had an affair with Beverly, a modern Vespa with the great 330cc engine. A big wheeled scoot, I remember a few of the quick county country lane rides on her.

Re: Road chipping damage to T Max Kevlar belt today.

I rode for many miles with a small 8mm hole in my BMW f650cs scarver belt caused by a gravel flint, forgot all about it really until going on a long trip abroad. The belts are strong, the hole got no bigger and I sold the bike.

Re: NC750X DCT

On my CBF600S I use a light fully synthetic oil squirted on from the old oil can (brought new in about 1970) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Wesco-Andy-Oil-Can/273970315868?hash=item3fc9e7425c:g:9iMAAOSwh~9dWRKD It has cost me nothing over the years, and I think I have never brought a new chain, ...

Did you have to pay the administration fee and pre-preparation fee that Dobles charge these days?

Re: Ooops i did it again.

The 'S' must be most practical bike around. I've looked at how easy they are to service, with the slanting engine valve clearances are very easy, no bodywork needs to come off and they are screw and lock nut type. I had to have an NC700X when they came to the UK, stocks of the S arrived later.
