Re: Birthday Ride

Yes, but you get free prescriptions, eye tests, a bus pass, regular bowel cancer screening kits, free annual flu jabs, and until recently there were free TV Licences for the over 75's. Shame on the BBC scrapping the scheme, they need more money to help pay exorbitant salaries to jug eared crisp pedl...

Re: cvt

Wouldn't it be far simpler for you to do a Google Search for CVT and pick through the pages of topics on how CVT actually works.

Re: Do you think newer riders are missing out?

They like the Hull route call it the party boat . Over the years I've gradually gone off doing the carvery, hot and cold buffet, and drinking beer on those ferries. Last night I was quite happy with a Pieminister Moo Pie and a Starbucks coffee before the ship left Zeebrugge. My evening entertainmen...

Re: Do you think newer riders are missing out?

I don't think the scooter meet was in Liege, that's about 130 miles away from Zeebrugge. I didn't notice until we disembarked this morning and were moving along very slowly to the UK Border Force Passport Control, that they also had two vans with them as 'support vehicles'.

Re: Do you think newer riders are missing out?

There was about three dozen Trad type scooters on last night's P&O ferry crossing from Zeebrugge to Hull. Their owners had been attending an invitation only scooter meet about 30 miles from the ferry terminal. I'd say none of the riders were just passed their test or newer riders, they were all midd...

Re: Birthday Ride

It's bad mate, you learn to never trust a fart in case you follow through, you'll be getting up in the middle of the night to pee, telling anyone that'll listen what tablets you're on. You'll be getting your first grey pubic hair, using a nasal hair trimmer, and maybe when you were younger you'd hav...

Re: Xmax Vs Forza. Round 2

Both are exceptional scooters however the Yamaha sports the bluecore engine which I believe is far superior to the old Honda lump It's certainly a bit bigger 292cc to 279cc and obviously newer Bluecore engine will a bit more fuel efficient. However you (and a few others) have this misconception tha...

Re: Xmax Vs Forza. Round 2

Yes but that's only how you see it, I crossed the XMax off my buying list after after trying one out in York about a year ago. So I went off to a Honda dealer a week or so later and ordered my Forza. Eleven months later I'm still enjoying the Forza, and a change of screen and a few other additions h...

Re: Do you think newer riders are missing out?

Don't most of the punters at the NEC Show drive there as part of a car load, go by train to Birmingham International, or on one of those weekend organised coach trips advertised in your local paper. I've been twice by train since moving to York and it's just easy and convenient. Both times I've noti...

Re: Do you think newer riders are missing out?

I don't think newer riders are missing out, look at all the choice available and the technology that's standard these days, They can buy any variation of motorcycle like cruiser, adventure, sports or tourer straight from the dealers and they're now fully loaded. They have ABS, EFi, traction control,...
