Re: National Trust Members

I've been a member for years - it's a decent charity to support and it gives you the opportunity to just "dip in" to any of their sites rather than feel compared to "get your money's worth". Living in Cornwall we've got loads of properties locally and the availability of free car...

Re: A change

Be warned - your face may well crack from the wide grin you're going to have. Enjoy.

Re: Another nice looking R.E.

I have decided to keep the Deauville, was thinking of something new as I will be doing my touring on the Silverwing this year. Could not face trading it in and finding out I made a big mistake. Thanks all for your comments about Enfields. Dave, if you like Honda twins as much as that, don't even TH...

Re: Another nice looking R.E.

I think that on balance (see what I did there?) I prefer a flat twin. I like horizontally opposed engines in general - many years back I had a Subaru 1.6 that had a lovely flat four engine. Old Beetles and Citroens were good too.

Re: Another nice looking R.E.

Ah but, Meldrew - these days I only ride when the weather is good. If I'm on a bike rather than a scooter I've still got the "proper" gear - leather jacket, leather jeans and trusty Altberg boots (all of which still fit!!!). My trouble is I really like the light weight of the Vespa, couple...

Re: Another nice looking R.E.

I love the looks of all the Bullets and their off shoots, but I reckon that's the best of them. Trouble is, I just don't like riding them. Now if they made a twin-cylinder version, preferably two-stroke like they used to do..............

Re: Burgman 400

STD code is Okehampton. Autotrader reckons it's 59 miles from here in Perranporth so that's about right.

Re: What scooters should I be looking at??

The T-Max is right up there as one of the best bikes I've ever owned and certainly the best scooter. Best handling, best brakes, top-notch engine, lights and equipment. A bit short on luggage space compared to a Burgman and not as comfy as a Silver Wing - but hey, it's a sports scooter so what do yo...
