Re: Black & shiney

Bern, you're a star. I live in Perranporth, very close to the beach. You'd be made very welcome. Ron.

Re: Black & shiney

Hi Bern - I'm 6'2" with short legs and long back. Would I look even dafter than usual on an XV535 or do you think I'd be comfy? I've never ridden one but really like the looks of them.

Is it a 535 or bigger? Looks lovely.

Re: Silverwing on Hardknott Pass

Lovely stuff - one of my all-time favourite roads. I'm glad you included the road over Blea Tarn from Great to Little Langdale - that's real fun too, especially if there's a bit of ice around! Before we retired down to Cornwall I rode that trip on all of my bikes - Vespa 125 and Honda 90 in the 1960...

Re: One Two Wheeler That Does Everything - Impossible! - X-ADV disappoints

For me (approaching 74, live on the coast in Cornwall) now I only ride when I want to, the Vespa 300GTS is close to perfect. Light and small enough to manhandle easily yet big enough to accommodate my 6'2". No luggage capacity to speak of, although the bag hook and flat floor is surprisingly useful....

Re: Visor Down Bmw C400

I used to understand the principles of buying bikes, scooters or cars. You could go for cheapness and buy from China, India, Taiwan or other emerging countries with low wages and commensurately low prices. Or you could buy quality, from Europe, America or Japan, with high wages and high quality cont...

Re: Took the plunge.

There's a logical progression here - Xmax 125, pass test, T-Max 530. Result - happiness!

Re: I'm suddenly turned on to scooters

Welcome to the real world! Bikes or scooters - they're both great. If you do a lot of main road work then do have a go on a T-Max, it'll really open your eyes to what a sporty scooter can do. If you want a comfy, powerful and good-looking tourer, check out the Silverwing. If, like me, you mainly do ...

Re: Looking to move up in the scooter world

Why not get a REAL scooter - 300 GTS Vespa! Otherwise try a 400 Burgman - light enough for traffic, quick enough for fun and big enough for comfort. Sorted.
