Re: The end of the road

Just taken the Maxsym out for a short ride. Bit hard on the shoulder but it was only for a few minutes. And it was painful getting it on and off the centre stand. It was primarily to see if the collision with the wall did any damage. It hasn't. It rides perfectly, and the only damage is a few scratc...

Sorry to hear of this Maxsymuppet. I think many of us sympathise with your plight. Good luck for the future...and remember, have fun however you can!
Thanks Data and to all. No doubt I will be seeing some of you at the Raven or anywhere else local.

So that's sorted are you listing the Maxsym on here for sale at special Muppet only price ;) ;)
It will be for sale but not yet. Once I have got myself a car. But I am selling my Givi panniers. If anyone is interested see the for sale section.

Re: The end of the road

Thanks Ray, and to all who wish me well with my plight and my decision.

Even though I will have four wheels rather than two I will check out this site every so often, and if there is a meeting at the Raven or anywhere else local I will come along to see you all.

Re: The end of the road

Some good points, especially regarding my work colleagues and indeed my employer. 'He's off work again because of that bloody bike.' There was a fair gap between my two ankle fractures (2011and 2013) and this but it adds up. They were on snow and ice respectively by the way, but I have been thinking...

The end of the road

I have done a lot of thinking before writing this post. On the 11th of July I had a little mishap. I was backing out of a parking space (with the engine running) when the bike started to roll forwards. I went for the front brake but accidentally opened the throttle slightly, resulting in it ( with m...

Re: MPG

Oh yes, you'll get mpg figures like this from a Burgman 400 at steady speeds. I've had two of them. If you think the fuel gauge isn't much use try the one on the Maxsym. It doesn't move for ages and you think 'I'm doing well.' Then it suddenly drops. And at just after half it reaches what I call 'pl...

40 to 45 Bhp...what ever happened to maxsym tl model..
That's a point. Maybe Sym think it won't sell here. By the way, anyone know if the Kymco 500 (can't remember the name of it) is being imported here? If it is then the Sym TL would be a worthy competitor. If of course the Kymco sells.

Re: Burgman 650 now Discontinued.....

Recently found out the big 270kg burg 650 has been discontinued ...will be interested to see what its replacement will be...if any... I don't think there will be a replacement. Honda didn't replace the Silverwing did they? Okay there's the Integra, but that is less of a scooter and more of a motorc...
