Re: Cheaper bikes for EU but not UK

It's funny how the only arguments being thrown about are financial ones with the main argument of remainers revolving around we'll be poor outside of the EU. From mine and many others point of view the point of Brexit is not financial gain but freedom from the EU. I don't really care if I take a fin...

Re: Would you buy a used helmet

Wouldn't buy used. Wouldn't consider a free used helmet either.

Bought wrong size could be code for "dropped it on the floor but no scratches showing"

You can get good, 5 star rated Sharp helmets new for about 100 quid so no need to ever risk buying used.

Re: I think electric is now in sight

40 mile range at 70mph is a bit poo though innit? 5 years ago though, the range would be around 30 miles at 70mph. The rate of battery technology advances is the most significant thing. 😀 I agree that progress made is good, but the range is still poo so I'd rather wait until it has a decent range a...

Re: Punctures.

Didn't even have the Africa Twin for a week before the first puncture. And tubed tyres, gah..

Seems to be a lot more crap on chevrons these days so I'm more cautious about riding/filtering on them on zee commute.

Re: Is NC750X a worthy alternative to a maxi?

The only other point I would add is a rear foot brake is cack compared to the bicycle style brakes of the Integra or conventional scooter but having an fjr you know that and will be used to it already :-)

Re: Is NC750X a worthy alternative to a maxi?

Engine breaking on the nc's is ok, certainly way better than any maxi/scoot I have ridden. If the low reving chugging annoys you just run it around in one of the sports modes (or manual). I used the Integra 700 in sports mode all the time as it was a wee bit lumpy at 30mph in drive. It will wait a w...

Re: Is NC750X a worthy alternative to a maxi?

If you can get over the adv styling and have a chance at a test ride, the Africa twin is bloody great for commuting and long distance comfort. Bit like an nc700 on 'roids. Fuel economy is good as long as you don't hammer it everywhere - certainly better than the fjr anyway - and plenty quick. Plenty...

Re: What gear do you wear?

Just going to town and then Kidderminster. So, shorts off, kevlar jeans and boots on and my textile jacket. Dangerous town is Kiddy. : Ride safe and have a good day icon_maxi_scoot.gif Just got back, it was a lovely ride but I'm glad to be back in shorts. :) I've got oversize kevlar jeans too and s...
