Re: Bought a Burgman 650!

Great stuff, you will love it. The engines are superb. Should get your leg and upper arm muscles worked up too. Compared to the 125 it will be like floating along in an armchair, a very powerful, lovely armchair. Can`t wait to see the pics and hear how good it is. Best Mark. Armchair sounds perfect...

Bought a Burgman 650!

Those of you who post here regularly will no doubt have seen my many posts about trying to find a maxi scoot to replace my CB500X and XMAX 125. Well, I've bought a 2013 Burgman 650, 8000 miles. It's in excellent condition, fully service history and will be serviced/MOT'd before I pick it up on Satur...

Re: BMW event.

Surely 43k miles is on the limit before need engine work?

Speaking from ignorance here of course.

Can you (or anyone) clarify how many miles a scooter like a Silverwing 600 will do before I'm into high maintenance or engine rebuild?

Re: BMW event.

I've been looking at Silverwings or Burgman 650's at the moment. Loads of Burgers around me but Silverwings seem to be rare.

I might have to travel to look at one of them.

The one on gumtree for £700, is that the Manchester one? If so, I thought the miles were too high on it. 43k.

Re: BMW event.

I love the CVT gearbox, so smooth and always in exactly the correct ratio for the current situation. Like Meldrew, I had chance to ride any of the BMW range but was only interested in the 650GT scoot. I was thinking about that on the ride home, I am just drawn to scooters, I can't explain it. I like...

Re: BMW event.

Due to going along to that BMW Road Show at Squire's on Saturday, I had a phone call earlier this afternoon from a very nice lady at Barrie Robson Motorcycles, the BMW dealership in York, enquiring when I'd like to have a ride on their BMW C650 Sport. Guess I'll be getting a call too then. I never ...

Re: Burgman 400 apprentice from Kent

Welcome! I have a CB500X at the moment and an Xmax 125. Thinking of trading in both for a scooter and the Burgman 400/650 is on my list of ones to try.

Re: BMW event.

the indicator repeater light on the dash is far too small. Agree with that, I had to really look hard to check I was indicating. Getting back on my Silver Wing to ride back to York a few minutes after getting off the BMW, everything returned to being smoother, quieter, warmer, and unaffected by the...
