Good morning fellow muppetts, i am Stilton no cheese and it was suggested that I register here by Spaceprobe.
He I understand was one of the first to own a Maxsym 600i in this country.
At this time I have covered nearly 2000 miles on the 600 and it so far has been 100% reliable.
Most recent trip was last Friday 15/08/2014 a 307 mile round trip to North Yorkshire.
Used 4.77 gallons of super unleaded which roughly equals 64 m.p.g.Thats mostly motorway speed, with some town and country lanes.
On the return the heavens opened and I found myself riding in a full downpour for the first time in nearly 30 years.
The sym performed faultlessly, no problems with water in systems and the maxxis tyres cleared their way through the A1 Ganges with aplomb.
The weather protection was o.k. although I have a decent set of wet weather gear, just up to now untested, having only rode my previous bike in the dry.
I am heading towards 60 and this is my first maxi scoot,it will probably be my last, as I like to keep machines for a long time and this one is looking like a "keeper"
The ceo and I like to go for a run every now and then, using the bike for explorations to views and pastures new, like for instance a trip to the meadowhall shopping centre Sheffield
returning via the derwent reservoirs. 200 miles+ fuel consumption then was about 55 m.p.g. but she was tighter then. (the bike)
The ceo finds the sym a lot more comfortable than the Gsx 1400 we have used for the last five years, she can get a good load of shopping under the seat and in the top box, the suspension is much more suited to her back than the much harder
Suzuki damping, the old original suzuki shocks gave up the ghost and I replaced them with a pair of custom made Hagons.
Anyway thats roughly us,we live in the swamp part of Leicestershire and have seen a phsychiatrist,so we hope we will be welcome here!
By the way everyone, keep an eye on what is happening in Iceland at the moment, if Bardabunga goes off then we will maybe have the chance to ride in Ash!
Hello muppetts
