AN 400 Burgman

Post by elmer fud »

HI to all members.....I`ve just recently bought a 2004 Burgman 400, and only rode it twice so far. The reason is both times I rode it...it broke down. Although these issues are now fixed, I do have another which is really putting me off riding again. It starts ok, but, after a little while it coughs and splutters when shutting throttle down, and then does`nt pull away cleanly as I would have expected. Dealer is saying that it is a characteristic of this machine...but I doubt this very much. Has any one got any idea what this could be, while I still have some warranty left. Thanks in advance for any help..... 8-)

welcome elmer, 2004 should be fuel injected and not carb, so i would suggest new plug and air filter and check exhaust for leaks .. good luck :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Thanks for the replies so soon as well, my flabber is gasted.....anyways I have been in touch with the dealer today, after I put my post on here, and he suggested that a refund is in order! let me also say...I am a returning motorcyclist and did not anticipate any problems with renewed ownership of being on 2 wheels again. I was looking forward to getting out more. Do I regret not being back...YES, but also humbled that the dealer has shown compassion and offered a full refund. ARJ motorcycles you are the most honest person/dealership I have ever come across. He won`t see this blog, but....bless his cotton socks.
