sh300i stalling

Post by MrToadx »

Just had the "upgrade" to the Sh300i to cure the stalling problem (which I'd never incidentally experienced) and took the bike out.. and it stalled on low throttle after a 10 mile run. Not a happy bunny. Think twice about this upgrade if your bike is OK. Its back to the dealer today to see what they say, and I find myself doubting my lovely scoot for the first time. Also, its a bit scary to contemplate just how much an ECM (and presumably other electronic parts) cost once the bike is out of warranty.... :(

Is this an introduction? If not then you've posted in the wrong place dude :P

Not just electronics, recently I looked up the price of a silencer for an X-Max 250.... £1100
That's 25% of the cost of a whole new scooter!

Yep. my SH300 did the same thing.
Never stalled once with the old ECU, after having the new ECU fitted it stalled on the way home..... :(

How about a nice introduction first before asking for our help, it's called being polite.

Hello,

Not sure what's with this thread now, so I introduce myself first. I am Ulli from London and have a Honda SH300i. This was a hard decision to make after I had been very attached to my sofa on wheels, which was a lovely Aprilia Scarabeo 125 including big fat side cases and implying a touch of 'goldwing' ;)
I am interested in comfortable ride-outs around London taking in some nature, culture and culinary delights/picnics.

Back to the subject line, I bought my SH300i / yr 2007 in August 2011 second hand, got the recall (even though my scooter had never stalled), had the ecu (whatever that means) changed and since then my Scooter has stalled twice.
They have left a message on my phone to bring it back to their garage for another free checkup. I will update.

On another note, it seems to consume a lot of petrol, like 6 litres to 75 miles, seems a lot to me. And it was superserviced by Honda ( for a whapping £200 on top!) at buying time.
