My instructor made a point of telling us that he would NOT just be telling us how to get through the test. He told us he would teach us how to ride correctly and THAT would enable us to pass the test.
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!

I just watched that first test vid and got a shock! The fellow clearly states that u r doing it Wrong if u constantly use your back brake in slow cone work. In my test in Oz if we didn't use our back brake we lost points, throttle clutch in slow work was wrong. Haha. Completely opposite. Oh we'll we do whatever it takes to get that license wont we??

When I was first given professional tuition on how to ride a motorcycle I was taught how to use the rear brake for balance when doing very tight turns at low speed.
This was in the British Army in the early 1980s on an analogue bike.
Maybe its different on a modern high definition digital bike.

I knew there was a perfectly reasonable explanation :-)

I couldn't get on with this brake thing for the slow bendy stuff.
Bearing in mind that I've had a license since the early seventies, and there was no training at all in those days.
I picked this up from the memsahib when she did her CBT last year, and tried it, but couldn't quite make it work in my favour.
However, I do use the brake when I'm in traffic at about 10 or 15 mph, because it sorts out the jerky throttle pickup nicely.

they teach it now on CBT and full licence Salom is not a problem.
speed trap make sure you are doing 17 MPH at least.

Swerve test if you have speed humps where you live use them thats what I did then make sure you get an instructor to take you out as DVLA do not except certain bikes
cost me £550 all in.
