For those who may be interested this gives a bit more info on the chain recall for the NC700. There's a bit of an explanation at what's gone on behind the scenes.

Re: Update on the NC700 recall
Thanks Wozza read that,
I've been out today, tested my new bike, a great fast ride through country lanes, forgot all about the chain problem and it was tested to destruction, my bike gave no problem. it is fitted with an RK chain.
My conclusion is that, these problems can easily get over hyped on these forums, any problem, was, with an early batch of chains supplied by RK, which was rectified months ago.
This is every much the same problem as the CVT with Burgman 650, most bikes will run faultlessly for the life of the bike, but from what you read on forums, it indicates to readers that they have a design fault, which is not the case. My own Burgman ran faultlessly, and so have all the others I know of from the K5 revision onwards.
Honda will be recalling bikes fitted with RK chains, but if they confirm it is just a problem with an early batch, that's fine, as far as I'm aware, no new cases have been reported since the original 8 reported cases.
It is good to air this problem on the MM site away from the NC forum, as some members are so worried, that they are not using their bikes at all. which is a shame, I'm sure that if they did, they would have no problem with them.

Re: Update on the NC700 recall
Just back from my holiday only read about this!
Called in at my local Honda dealer yesterday where I purchased mine, which also happens to have the RK chain fitted.
At this time my dealer has advise that there is no recall issued for the bikes in the UK.
I will continue to use mine but will keep a close eye on the situation.
Although, I have verbally been advised by the dealer that no recall has been issued, I have documented this and sent them an e-mail as confirmation of what I was told. Fingers crossed, nothing sinister will happen!

Hiya Road Runner how many miles have you done on your bike now? Honda UK are in the process of organising a recall, but they're very slow.

Re: Update on the NC700 recall
Hi Wozza,
Only done about 300 or so miles as I have been away for a few weeks, since picking her up.
So far have fitted Givi rack, fenda extenda and sidestand extender 'footprint' plate.
Did try out the bike with soft panniers but wasn't too happy about them, so I will be putting Givi's hard luggage on it in due course.
I note that you are generally happy with yours, apart from removing the 'plastics'. Have you checked mpg yet? I calculate mine to be around 75.
Hope to meet up with you again sometime in the future.

I'm averaging 79mpg, some of which was 2-up. The best I've had is 84.1

Re: Update on the NC700 recall
