Oh dear indeed, remember back in the day they brought out Aermacchi, how soon before they vanished into obscurity, Ducati resale values are very likely to plummet at the speed of one being thrown off Beachy Head. I predict that they will stretch the current Ducatti frame to fit a Harley motor & call it the Italian Buell

Maybe I can afford a second hand Diavel now.

Great shame as I have no doubt HD will hoover up all the expertise then kill the brand.

Possibly, or is it just a sinister ploy to save them developing a decent bike in-house themselves?
Chevrolet bought out Daewoo, saved them developing a 'small' car range of their own, VW bought out Skoda, instant 'cheaper' car range.

Just my two penneth!
As I grow older, my mind doesn't just wander......sometimes it buggers off completely!!

Agreed. However Chevrolet have been in financial trouble for years & I can count on one hand the number of Daewoo based Chevy models I see on our roads.

VW did but Skoda and used their vehicles as the trial floorpan for the next generation of golf each time.

Ducati have achieved a standard where I would own one now and you don't see broken down Italian crotch rockets lining the road awaiting recovery.

I'm under no illusion HD will build down the brand to a cost but still charge top dollar for their wares (as they do now)

A Diavel as the replacement for the V-rod

Think how exciting it will be you can have a Ducati dog bowl next to your HD one at crazy money and some idiot will buy it.

On a plus side its another marque I can rip the piss out of on ride outs
