Sounds good, the fact I had to do what I did was not off putting, just thought it was a bit weird.

You know if you've got your feet wrong, the IAM instructor tells you, plus you hit your toe cornering, usually when the camber catches you out on bends.

OK!

I am looking at what I could get second hand, what years were changes made to the nc range and what changed? I have my eye on a low mileage 2014 750x that sounds like a good deal, it has the old style exhaust and display. My google skills are failing me on trying to figure out what changed and when.

AFAIK there were no changes until the NC 750 range.

Edit: Oops you are looking for a 750 not a 700. I really mustn't post things when hungover......

Slight mods to the body work, tweeks to the DCT, later they changed from the nice stainless but very quiet exhaust system 2016 suspension mods
DCT mods LED head lights, main is OK but dip is useless, that is why you see so many with spot lamps fitted, ods the frunk to make it a little bigger inside..Ow! and the clocks got a fancy colour set up..
No real world faults with either the Manual or DCT bikes, the odd sensor on early dct's but not enough to say they had a problem,,,none in the last couple of years...Alice who used to be on here had 87thou on her Integra when it was stolen and no issues. Don't forget a chain oiler to add to the spends if not fitted. Why not go to the NC forum and have a look around Funky!

Very much like on here no one bites and all seem a good bunch of chaps and chapessessessess

Firstly I am biased as I bought a 2016 on NC750X but personally (you could disagree) if funds permit I'd pick the newer version 750 over the earlier.

There's lots of debate but I much prefer the Showa front forks on the later ones, less softness and dive, also the DCT has the three stage S mode rather than simple S & D. I don't ride much in the dark and some hate the LED headlight but for me I have far more drivers moving aside when filtering than on any other bike, in the daytime. Not fussed either way on the exhaust and the Frunk is slightly bigger.

I would prefer the 2016 onwards as it would be like what I test rode and I found the S modes appealing.

This 2014 I am looking at has all the extra's you can get bar a taller screen for only £4400 with under 4K on the clock with three previous owners that changed year on year. It looks like its in excellent condition, possibly only ridden in good weather. Price wise it suits but for a few hundred more I could get 2016 with no extra's

Honda have sold a lot and some 2016 owners are being tempted by either X-ADV or Africa Twin, so maybe hold fire a few weeks and see what becomes available.

Spannerman has his ear to the ground at several Kent dealers so may uncover a gem for you, always worth a call into Dobles to see what they have and check the NC Forum (IIRC there's one on for 3995 - sorry just looked and already sold!)

I am not in a hurry as I'd need to get my TMax ready for px or sale to get the best deal possible, I'm waiting on the Honda dealer to get back to me on a PX value so I have an idea of its worth. Problem is because I have been self servicing he said it would affect the value.

When the 2018 comes out there might be a fair few 2016 nc's come on for sale.

This is what i did last year at this time, put the NC750x in to the dealer and waited for the x-adv to out..left all the kit on it as i had a feeling none would fit the x-adv. I was correct  Got a cracking price for it and the dealer did not take any commission on the sale, did still have 2 years warranty thou as i had bought the third year. I even knocked £350 off the price the dealer had put on it, as it went to the Blood bikes.. :D
In a month or so the dealers will be creaming to sell 2017 bikes so try and sell yours privately if you can..If you buy an X demo or pre reg bike you should get the VAT knocked off at least..
Lyn.
