Burgman 650 - side wind deflectors

Also known as "side visors". These are an official Suzuki accessory, part number 990D0-26JS1-BLK. Has anyone fitted these to their post 2013 650? Having recently become the owner of a new 650 I bought a pair of these sidevisors to reduce the cold air swirling around my legs. They are held on by double-sided tape and a couple of screws, one at each end. I was a bit disconcerted to read in the Suzuki fitting manual that it would be necessary to remove the sidevisors to carry out routine maintainence and, on looking at the bike's maintainence manual, I can see that removal of the lower leg shield needed to access the spark plugs will be prevented by the sidevisors being in place. So, the sidevisors are held in place by double sided trim-tape. This tape sticks like crazy and will be very difficult to remove. It will be even more difficult to remove the old tape from the sidevisors to replace it. This sounds like a badly-designed accessory and I am contemplating returning them. Has anybody overcome this difficulty?

I am aware of this issue but have my Burger dealer serviced and the deflectors were fitted by same dealer when new. They do seem to work well but there again I haven’t ridden without them on.

OK, I decided to go back to the dealer and see if they had any comments about the fitting. They are a Suzuki dealership but had never fitted side visors to a recent 650 Burgman. On looking at the items and the installation instructions they agreed there was a problem. After some discussions with Suzuki they have sent the visors back because Suzuki don't think they are right either! The part number is correct for a late 650 but it appears nobody at Suzuki knows how to fit them. The guys at the dealers said it would be very difficult to remove and replace items stuck on with double-sided trim tape.
