I have had my new 400 Burgman now for exactly four weeks and have just clocked up 1500 miles on it. It is my view at this stage that it is better in every respect other than storage space to the model that it has replaced, I've had four of the earlier models. We are not talking "quantum leaps" here just improvements of various magnitude to what I viewed as an already a very good machine indeed. Stand out areas for me are, handling and stability, initial take off and mid-range and a small but noticeable improvement in comfort though I do realise that this is a very personal and individual-specific area. In short, I am absolutely delighted with it.

Hi Geoff, had ours since last October 3200 miles now, suits us for two up riding more spacious than the sh we had before, pity it's so heavy but nice and low for me with ducks disease!

Going to Normandy Monday week camping for 6 days so will be a good test for it, did a short weekend camp to Minehead and was ok cruise around 55-60, low 70s mpg

I find the cruising stability one of the most impressive characteristics of the bike an indicated 80 (probably a realistic 70 to 75) is very relaxed and having an MRA X-Creen fitted helps greatly. I have tried to induce instability at this cruise and it is as solid as a rock.

Its good to have review of new one from experienced 400 owner .It would be great if someone had owned every one since 1999 and ran them all to a good mileage .

i'm still liking mine ,apart from the seat is not as good as previous models. after hr ,I'm ready for a numb  bum break.(it could be i just have a bony arse an it's not the seat) but most of my sunny day rides are btween 100 an 200 miles.. so i'm glad to get off after day out.. apart from that the handling and the power is great. all i really could want for..getting 79 mpg an with a box added can go for days out anywhere with the memsab.
