Hi all, I have just bought a 2001 AN400 with little history but low milage. I have given it a basic service of oil, filters spark plug but feel that it would be wise to change the belt, Can any give me any idea how long it will likely take please, I have bought a manual and have a fairly decent tool kit. Thanks

There's a series of youtubes by a chap called Micbergsma on Burgmans. He did some on the earlier K3-6 which might be nearer in styling to yours. Can't hurt to watch an extra one before diving in.

You only need to get as far as the belt, no need to remove variators of clutches or anything... :)

I changed my ‘15 burgman belt a few months ago. Took me around 2 hours with tea break in between

I took the variator and clutch off to clean the dust out, not sure if you can get the belt off without or not,
get some card with holes to match the bolt positions, put them in as you remove as there are different
lengths, make absolutely sure you dont have the belt trapped between the variator as it will give the
impression the bolt is tight when it is not,
Make sure you get the right belt the double OHC and disc bikes are different to the single.

Very good advice regarding the bolts. icon_thumbs_up.gif

Hi, There seems to be a large amount of aftermarket belts advertised, are there any recommendations or should I stick with a manufacturer one?
Thanks

Get Mitsoboshi one they make them for Honda Suzuki Yamaha .I usually buy off Italian eBay .little triangle with 3 dots in is their logo .put straight edge against variator check for wear .There's a Haynes manual covers early ones and up to 2011 worth getting .Check big washer when take variator off I think its a concave type on those .

You can get cheaper ones just change them at lower miles .
