I know I pulled the remnants of the old one off the rear pulley yesterday ;-) but thought it shouldn't be showing on a brand new one?

From what I understand they aren't made individually they make a big roll then cut belts from that .

If it's not stuck on to firm how about one of those air duster computer cleaners,
brake cleaner may be good but be sure to lube anything that needs it as it will
be degreased, and keep all of it away from the belt and the bits it runs on.

When put it back make sure have slack in belt before final tighten .You can squeeze belt together to get it down in rear pulley that creates enough slack in front pulley so you don't pinch the belt .Otherwise its not as tight as you think once belt realise its self .

I could only get the belt 5mm if that under the lip of the rear pulley, how will I know if its pinched it/not tight after I've put it together n run it? will it not accelerate well or loose top end umph?
