Comparative Test maxi scooters 400cc: Maxsym, Xciting, X-Max

Just did a UK search of all three scoots; the MaxSym 400i and Xciting 400i are both exactly 4,999 pounds sterling. The Xmax is 500 pounds, or 10%, more. Ouch!

Then, only the KYMCO comes with ABS, and it's the lightest and fastest. Not much to think about here, the best choice is pretty clear...

i went to have a sit on the xciting 400i today, excellent build quality , had a closer look at the front fork setup and the seat was nice and firm, shame about the screen, the dealer said its a shame they did not bring over the 500i instead of the 400i would have made more sense

The Kymco would do even better if they had some decent colours. Impressive organisation and backup from Kymco though, also unlike SYM they fit mirrors that work instead of just looking cute and costing a fortune. In fact Piaggio mirrors work too - maybe it's just a SYM *Max* thing?!

Maybe the best 400 is the Yamaha, because that may be the easiest to pull the panels off and have them sprayed a decent colour....
