Bloody hell Spaceprobe, no wonder yours was so good, I've never seen a 4000 before. Must have gone like shit from a goose mate.spaceprobe wrote:And anyway even with poor leg room its the best 4000 on the road (that will wake them all up)

Me too, I didn't even sit on the GTS300. Was easy to fix though, at least the bump is not built in! Had to also change the gearing, mirrors and screen...Phil wrote:I must admit I did buy it blind. Couldn't find one to test ride. Before the maxsym I had a joyride 200i, I did get a test ride on a second hand one the dealer had in, that seem to have more legroom but that's maybe because it never had a backrest.

Blanking plugs or Trim pannel screws, or simple flush / button head bolt or screw if the holes in the seat are 'finished' - possibly by a plastic or metal ferrule...Meldrew wrote:Or you could look in Halfords or eBay etc for black rubber blanking grommets.

Re: MAXSYM 400 Riders Backrest Removal
I would try a blanking plug but the trouble is its just a hole in the vinyl of the seat horizontally going back towards the pillion with no backing or foam there

Haven't got a great photo of it but here it is, albeit rather obscured. You can see the edges are a little crinkly as the vinyl folds round to be stapled onto the back.
