Sym prices are far too close to the Japanese brands for them to be considered a cheaper option.
In some cases they're simply not cheaper at all.
Examples:
Sym Joymax 300 £4300
Kawasaki J300 ABS £4400
Sym Wolf SB250Ni £3300 (currently on £300 off promotion, normally £3600)
Suzuki Inazuma 250 £3600 (but widely advertised for £3000)
Kawasaki Z250SL £3649
Sym Joymax 125i £3500
Burgman 125 £3500
Sym Symphony SR125 £1800
Suzuki Address 110 £1800

Well last time I looked my 600 was almost £3000 cheaper than the Burgman, and I can assure folks that SYM build quality is spot on these days

OK, but the Sym's engineering isn't up to the Burger's though - no clever gearbox, only a swing arm mounted engine.spaceprobe wrote:Well last time I looked my 600 was almost £3000 cheaper than the Burgman, and I can assure folks that SYM build quality is spot on these days

Isn't the Kawasaki J300 a re-badged Kymco?
Not sure if the J300 ABS is the same as the Downtown 300 ABS which is only £3999

But your single pot banger isn't anywhere near being in the same league as a Burgman 650.spaceprobe wrote:Well last time I looked my 600 was almost £3000 cheaper than the Burgman, and I can assure folks that SYM build quality is spot on these days
The Maxsym 600 is in a class of its own, but only because there isn't another 600 single maxi.
The Silverwing is still available for £6200, only £300 more than your beloved Maxsym.

Drivebelt for a Forza is about the same price as for a Joymax.
Brake pads are the same price.
Oil for the Forza is half the price because it lasts twice as long

Correct, if it's anything to do with SYM, there are plenty that will disagree with owners and previous owners! Even though they have never owned one!phantom309 wrote:i give up... you try to be objective . an always get shot down....can get that at work...
