gilera nexus - to buy? advice required!

Post by tom.bh »

hello!

having finally sold my triumph I am looking for a cheap maxi scoot to commute to work on!
I am drawn to towards the yamaha xmax 250 but saw a gilera nexus 250 for £1300 locally to me - Its covered 8000 miles and is a little tatty but looks ok other than the corrosion underneath. Was hoping to see if any of you guys have experience with these scooters and also does the corrosion in the photos (to follow) look too severe to bother with?

any advice appreciated!

cheers,

tom

The Xmax is more practical with bigger storage and...

No, stuff it. The Nexus looks real good and the Quasar engine is sweet so sod the Yam! :)

Few have had wiring issues with 500 nexus agree 250 a good engine .I'd say build quality better on yam even if it's not as good looking .

Never had an issue with the brakes on mine but the oil pumps on the early models are a real twat. The qasar engine however is a gem with a good spread of power & torque & fairly bullet proof. Like most things so long as maintenance is kept with problems will be few & far in between.
