Aren't the AN Burgmans frame mounted motors, while the UH ones are swingarm mounted motors?

AFAIK the 400 has a swing arm mounted engine. The original 250 was AN as well, which causes confusion with the UH 200!

Why would they do this, since they only introduced the XMax300 (or 'CZD300J') 18 months ago??

I stand corrected. I have always thought that the 400 Burgman had a frame mounted engine... until now.

Paint was flaking off the exhaust and the metal connections on the rear brake line was rusty. Whether the corrosion was adown to the previous owners neglect, or simply Yamaha's poor finish I've no idea.
My TMax was much the same - a constant battle. And the Forza 125's alloy parts were permanently stained after just one salty ride.
And a Suzuki I had years ago rusted its exhausts through in a year; and a new BMW F800 spent more time at the dealers for recalls and repairs than being ridden; and so it goes on.
Doesn't alter the way they go though...

Don't get me started on Tmax Centrestands and the way they rust! On the mk6 I drowned mine in ACF50 and there's still a bit where the ACF50 has obviously got blasted off and its gone rusty.
