Re: MCN Tossers
Hasnt anyone at MCN noticed that many modern bikes are also clothed in plastic panels and look like aliens
I dont care what anyone rides, as long as they are nice folk and not twats in matching leathers going on about their Kawashitty ZZXDRY6541100 doing 180mph outside a school!

Re: MCN Tossers
Ridinhigh, sounds like me and thee are of the mind, and era. My first bike was a BSA 250 C11G. I call myself a motorcyclist, i now ride a Silverwing 600 and it does everything i want it to.There are ocassions when that little devil sits on my shoulder and says,"these idiots don't know how to ride, go on give them a run". This happened last week when three bikes passed me on a bypass(they were speeding, i wasn't). On thier backs was written "Sons of Anarchy".When we left the bypass and hit the A road i caught them up,That little devil got on my shoulder and said" go on, You know you want to" so, i overtook them just before the bends, they bottled out at eighty on the bends, i let them catch up with me when i proved my point(to myself anyway).I don't really care what anyone else calls me or thinks of what i ride,at our time of life we are content in ourselves and don't need labels, or names printed on our clothing.

You should have asked them for their autographs.Sylar wrote: On thier backs was written "Sons of Anarchy"
They've got their own tv show.
And it's a wonder you got past them when they ride like this!

Re: MCN Tossers
maxi scoots, to those who have ridden one " no explanation necessary", to the average biker, " no explanation possible".
Dont you just like being that bit different though, Ive had bikes for 30 years, and the sunday ride-out chat at biker meets bores me shitless. Id much rather be on a ugly bunch ride-out, watching ZZG ride round a pub in his underpants on his mana at closing time.!!

Re: MCN Tossers
You've got to watch this MCN video: Aprilia Mana vs. Suzuki SV650, Honda Silver Wing and Piaggio MP3 400 -it's hilarious!
MCN 'Senior Road Tester' Michael 'Neevesy' Neeves:
Campest Frank Spencer voice, "There you go Betty - happy easter..." (@03:45)
"The scooters were outclassed on the country roads with their little 10 pence piece sized wheels..." (@04:25)
[BBvideo 560,340][/BBvideo]
Is he a "journalist"? Or just another guy as passionate about his opinion as you or I?
He was once asked by Visorvision; (http://www.visorvision.co.uk/blogsplat/?p=129" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
There’s always tittle tattle about road tests being biased, or influenced. What’s your take on it?
Just not true. You can’t lie or pay lip service to a manufacturer in a road test. MCN is very professional and as road testers we’re unhindered by pressure from manufacturers or advertisers. We state our opinions truthfully which you must realise are just that – our opinions, which may differ from the next man along, and the man after that.
Before I joined MCN, like most people I had preconceptions about this issue, but it simply doesn’t happen.

Re: MCN Tossers
If you have to explain, they'll never understand.
I think I've told the story about Box Hill one Sunday:
Me on the Burger 4 and two students on Yammy 125's.
Day Two of a five day so we get to ride a little further, immerse the newbies in a bit of bikin' kulcha.
Standing behind some forty-something balding fat Geezer with his Gixxer thou, race exhaust, chicken strips, matching blue and white Dainese leathers, Kushitani gloves, AlpineStars boots and of course race-replica Arai, watching a bunch of Surrey-HD `Sons of Accountancy` types riding-in:
"Fuckin` poseurs...!" he exclaims
Cue three people falling on the floor laughing. I actually spilled my coffee.
The fact is, most motorcyclists are simply weekend warriors. when I first started riding we laughed when the average annual mileage for a biker in the UK dropped from 20,000 to 12,000 miles a year. Today it's well under 3,000. I see half a dozen rainandshiners now. Three on maxis. Then the weekend sunshine comes and all of a sudden: Hundreds of crotch rockets. How anyone thinks perched on a razor blade looking like you're giving birth or taking a dump is `cool` is beyond me.
Fuckin' poseurs
