I got a sealed Lucas 6volt 4amp battery for the Yamaha Townmate 80, it was only £8, it has spade connectors so I cut the old battery wires and reused them. I now have a proper working horn and indicators for the first time ready for its MOT test. Previous tests have been passed with no working horn unless the engine is running fast and at best the brake light was only .1 candle power. Now looking forward to the test, no need to blag my way through it. Also found some extra power, the pick up magnet was covered in rust, so now has a better spark and starts better. I removed the shaft drive and swingarm for painting and on greasing it all up, the gear changes (4 gears on T80) are much improved. Only 28 registered bikes on the road which is a shame because they could be an improvement on the cult Honda C50 C90's and much cheaper to buy.
