Kymco xciting 400 abs
After sending a message to kymco uk regarding above scooter, was told we are not getting this bike in, I think its gorgeous and told them they should as its smart, and would compete well with the 400 market, they responded today saying they have decided to bring them in next year with the ABS option, result, I don't know when there coming but hopefully before summer rather than the end of it!

So, Sym and now Kymco entering the 400+ABS arena. Peugeot are on the way soon (fingers crossed), Piaggio are already around with the X10-350 and there's also the Majesty (ABS?). It's looking good.

Nice to see it coming, and I'm sure it'll be a decent scoot (though its looks aren't that Xciting....). Could be a crowded market segment soon, as I would guess that the smaller BMW scoots will be around this size and power output as well.

Oh, WAIT, it's only the World's Largest Economy...that DOESN"T get the MaxSym 400/600 (only offer up to the CityCom300i), the X-Max 400, the KYMCO Xciting 400i (again, only the ancient Xciting 500 and the Lard-ass Myroad700...) or the Piaggio X-10.
Oh, wait, we still get the old, obsolete 2010-style Majesty, with one front rotor and no ABS...

Sku, you'll get it eventually! I think the States is a bit awkward for the scooter market from what I can see and it just takes time for you to get stuff. Also, the rate at which the scooter market is growing over your side of the pond is accelerating. Hope you get it soon.

Yeah but the yanks, like us in the UK, don't buy many larger scoots so it's a very small market for the manufacturers, it's probably not worth the financial risk to try and bring them to your market.SkuTorr wrote:Oh, WAIT, it's only the World's Largest Economy...that DOESN"T get the MaxSym 400/600 (only offer up to the CityCom300i), the X-Max 400, the KYMCO Xciting 400i (again, only the ancient Xciting 500 and the Lard-ass Myroad700...) or the Piaggio X-10.

Re: Kymco xciting 400 abs
Yeah...but unless the public can see, try and buy the bigger scoots the market segment will never grow. Now is probably a good time for all the manufacturers to bring in bigger scoots as they are all getting so much better in terms of design and performance to the point motorcyclists are much more interested in making the jump to scoots and people with smaller models want to upgrade to something bigger when convenient. More and more folk realise how good scoots are now in comparison to the average bike for doing just about everything. No external luggage needed for many people with the maxi's and that's a big bonus. Ok if you are a hardened biker, you may not look to a maxi scoot, but so many folk are now the choice is becoming better. Just my take.

Just common sense that if there are no decent maxiscoots on the market, people can't buy them.
If the importers won't import them, they won't sell any.
If they won't publicise and promote them properly, same applies.
You have to wonder how the people who import the Taiwan brands ever make any money?
Maybe even Honda will be wishing they had brought a decent 300 maxi to market sooner.
