Warm and waterproof clothing!

Anybody recommend a good quality brand of warm, waterproof clothing which doesn't break the bank please? Went for lowest price last time but got soaked this morning riding in the rain! The waterproofing obviously didn't last ......

A lot of people are using army Gortex stuff with body armour underneath

Don't buy anything made by RST. Weisse are pretty good I had a fully lined all in one waterproof suit which was brilliant (no need to wear a jacket underneath) which lasted for 6 years.

Here I go again!!
Industrial fisherman's gear as the over layer. 100% waterproof.
Whatever you normally wear underneath.
I use Guy Cotton but there are others.

Have you considered used? I bought a Rukka jacket & trousers for £300 a few years ago (new almost a £1,000) just had them laundered and then Nikwax it.

Weisse are pretty good

I'd agree - I have a couple of their jackets and they are good. Not the very cheapest, but good quality (and the jackets include a proper back protector as well as normal armour).

Another vote for Weisse. Good performance at an affordable price. When I used to motorcycle camp I often wore a cheap thin Regatta jacket on top to cut the wind and rain. They pack away small and make a massive difference, especially when it comes to sharing your tent with an otherwise sodden jacket.
I have more trouble finding pants that dont leave my crutch damp.

There's only one but expensive but as the saying goes "buy cheap buy twice:, Klim gear is the real deal, some items have a lifetime warranty.
Otherwise I agree with the x army gortex I used this in my enduro days it's light warm and 110% waterproof, and cheap as chips on eBay.

My vote is weisse and only reason I didn't buy this time was they don't (didn't) do trousers with fitted braces this year and ive gained a few pound and couldnt find a stockist to try for size.
If you go for last years colour usually jacket for under £90.

I bought RST pro series jacket & trousers (after trying many brands (jacket easy, trousers not so) & today I ended up with wet belly and soggy bollox

I go for cheap to mid range jacket (RST adventure tourer for summer and a Frank Thomas waxed cotton for the winter) with normal jeans (plus work mans day glow £10 over trousers in the wet) but carry a over jacket and trousers under the seat in case of heavy rain.
