Basically a KTM 690 repackaged into a scooter!

Looks fun but somewhat impractical and very pricey.....

Still less power than the old Gilera 850. But a hell of a lot less weight too. Would make for a fun commute down the A12, what with all the traffic lights along it. Hmmm.....

Thats £25,000 plus you have to buy a KTM 690 bike to donate its engine etc! And its got no luggage room....Alanzzg wrote:£25000

Lordy, but that's ugly. Looks like it's the one that ate all the pies - heavy, ponderous-looking. A lard-arse of a scooter.
I know super-scoots tend to be big. but that looks out of proportion.

That's what happens when you put an oversized lump into a machine. Bit like that Merlin powered car?wilsonsteve wrote:Lordy, but that's ugly. Looks like it's the one that ate all the pies - heavy, ponderous-looking. A lard-arse of a scooter.

True, but the bodywork seems to have had no input from a designer. Or at least, a designer who was awake, sober and vaguely interested in his job. It's blobby, and then they stick that silly little light on the front, like a zit.

Re: Another speedy retro-style scoot
I can honestly say whilst I appreciate the engineering that's gone into it I don't like that. Who on earth is going to pay £26000 for a scooter?? Maybe Jay Leno might but I can't believe there's a market for that. The whole point of scooters is "cheap" transport.
Re: Another speedy retro-style scoot
As stated earlier it will cost any potential purchaser considerably more than 26 grand...BenR wrote:Who on earth is going to pay £26000 for a scooter??
The current estimate is the cost of a KTM Duke to use as a donor vehicle, plus £22,000 to £24,000.
I agree it looks rank but the hinged rear bodywork, giving you decent access to the oily bits, is a nice idea. In that respect it's better than about 90% of maxi-scooters!wilsonsteve wrote:True, but the bodywork seems to have had no input from a designer. Re: Another speedy retro-style scoot
I like it .Interesting they compare it to the T Max . I reckon it would be a lot of fun , agreed a high price ,2 and a half T Max's plus the KTM. I guess the price may come down if there is enough demand . However the BMW E Scoot is still £14500 albeit with a new 100 mile range and they are not flying out of the showrooms ( nearly bought a zero mile demo for £9500 but it had gone ) I hope he sells some . My Brother knows him and tells me he is a perfectionist and very passionate about the project . It is a high quality Scoot. 120mph what's not to like ?
