Hi all anyone know how much the new xmax 300 is? I can't seem to find out on the yamaha website. Has the bike been released? Cheers.

I believe no price has been advised yet and the model is due into uk dealers March next year.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery but today is a gift!

Unless Honda bring out a new 300 to replace the outdated Forza 300 i'll probably be going for one of these in the next 18-24 months

Sadly 5K seems to be the target price for all brands now with the premium models at the 15K mark upward.
I sat on a new FJR that costs more than my car new

Not a bad price for a Yamaha, the xmax is a good machine IMO.
Not too much more than a SYM either.

Well if you've got a Yamaha like mine you would be better with the SYM.

LOL, I was just basing it on Yamaha (- expensive in my mind) prices .mac65 wrote:Well if you've got a Yamaha like mine you would be better with the SYM.

My SYMs have certainly been reliable, I suspect I'll keep them for another 2-3 years now, then I'll upgrade to a Joymax 300 or a Vespa 300 unless my vanning takes off and I need a super-light moped

What do you mean Mac? Have you had trouble with your Xmax? If you've posted about this elsewhere, where can I find it?
I do know that you swapped your Joymax 300 for the Xmax.

Re: Yamaha xmax 300 price?
Usually the Xmax 400 seems to suffer from the coolant pipe popping off near the thermostat which overheats the engine, the air intake bellows crack and some people complain about lack of grease during assembly.
I've known the Forza had worse - like the fuel pump lasting two weeks and stopping on the outside lane of a busy road miles from anywhere
My X10 had a dodgy relay that wouldn't always switch off, my SYMs have had a new thermostat on the Joyride after the gauge (sender) went a bit intermittent.
So I have to conclude Taiwanese and Italian are the way to go
Japan is finished as a superpower which is rather sad, all their production will move abroad. They showed the world what true quality was, but the high yen has short term costs and Fukushima dooms them mid-long term.
