It'd be no good for me than, I'd prefer Grumpy Times.Steve_D wrote:I thought it was Gay Times.

Here is my take on the 400i

Pretty sure they are the same bikes. Just that one has a 400 and the other has a 600 plus a few features.

It's sounding better all the time. The motor is SOHC so screw and locknut valve adjustment. Barring plastics removal should take about an hours work.
I wonder if that backrest can come off to fit a topbox?

Re: MaxSym 600.
To my mind (without having ridden one myself), whilst the MaxSym 600 is a lot cheaper than a Tmax, the engineering is a lot more basic - it doesn't have the motorcycle-style chassis of the Tmax, big Burger, BMWs etc. To me, the Tmax's handling is what makes it such fun. Can't find a bhp figure on the Sym website, but I seem to remember that it hasn't got as much power as you'd expect from a 600, or even a 500.

40.6bhp from Syms quoted test figure. It's quite an old engine now usually resides in a quad bike.

I'm with you on this matter, I cannot see how simple tech isn't anything but a positive thing scooter wise. It'll be easy to keep on the road and as long as the owner is happy hey ho!michaelphillips wrote:nowt wront with an older style engine, its all diy none of those shim and bucket thingies

Re: MaxSym 600.
That's my view. Call me a Ludite but I prefer stuff I can fix myself. It's what would put me off the latest generation of bikes and scooters, too much to go wrong which I can't fix. I know most digital and solid state stuff is dead reliable but keyless ignition. How do you fix that when it goes wrong?
