Bugger. Again.

Post by MrGrumpy »

SO....only had the Tmax back for a week or so after the radiator failure, and was out in the sunshine today when it stopped. Just died. Lights on, starter turns, no engine error light, but won't restart. Called the AA out (again - getting my money's worth this year!). The guy did some investigation and finds that whilst the fuses are OK, there's no spark at the plugs. Cue another wait for a recovery vehicle (fortunately a much shorter one than last time) and back to the garage. Initial investigation produces loads of error codes, relating to coil, and maybe tilt sensor.

Now somewhat fed up with the wretched thing- this is worse than Aprilia reliability!!! Does anyone want to buy a secondhand Tmax mk4???? Anyone fancy a bit of arson and setting fire to it??? I think a Tmax mk6 has just been deleted from my next scoot shortlist!

Sorry to hear of your woes Mr G.
It's probably something really simple and will be a quick, cheap fix. icon_shit.gif
Let's hope so.

New Coil required apparently - £70 + fitting. How long it will take to arrive is the great unknown...

The Forza was released with a fuel pump that lasted 2 weeks.

With Yamaha and Honda being unreliable Kwak and Suzuki seem the best of Japanese now.

Not sure I want to go back to one of those...not that mine was entirely trouble free either! The left hand handlebar end vanished one day and I had endless hassle with the centrestand transmission limiter thingie switch
