I turned sixty recently - the rage in the seventies as I recall were the Ford fiesta xr2 and the Peugeot 205 gti - bike wise it was the Yamaha rd 250/350 or the Honda 250 superdream

xr2's and pug gtis were the 80s as I remember them and I wasn't born til 79

A bit OT, but my next door neighbour has just bought himself an ancient Honda Melody 2 - apparently it was the first scooter he had when he was 16. An astonishingly puny looking machine- there again, it only gets to 30 down a steep hill! Of course its a 2-stroke and produces such clouds of blue smoke that I accused him of trying to poison me in my own house!
