Re: Ducati & Enfield
A few thoughts;
A bike built for a specific set of purposes or a bike built to steal a market? the bike cost about £1800 when released in India with no real competition. Add ABS, FI, and emissions work and we are at £4500 because, we are told, that the market can stand it. It would seem from the RE forum and scanning youtube, that problems with the Himalayan in India are still happening and seem to be many and varied, not helped by the inconsistencies of the dealers abilities to solve problems. This leads us to the R and D department responding to recurring issues and writing correction bulletins. This doesn't seem to be happening very successfully at the moment. I want to buy the Himalayan but I won't do until RE admit the problems and are transparent about the solutions. RE seem to be growing very quickly and have a mission statement for world domination but could be guilty of neglecting the small stuff. I don't think the Himalayan should have been released to the rest of the world until all the problems had been ironed out.

R/E does have competition in India with Bajaj.
