Picked up a sym cheap.

Post by RuffStuff »

Got a sym vs125, I'm not sure if it can be classed a maxi or a mini maxi due to the enormous storage plus forward position.

It's in need of an autochoke but runs well bar the issues that throws up. I was after an nmax but this was waved at me so I saved myself £2800 of finance.

It's a gy6 motor apparently so parts should be no issue. Petrol tanks in the floor so all under the seat is storage, just too small for my xl arai but it'll take loads of shopping & there's the top box too.ImageImageImage

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.

Sweet looking thing! I love the improvised milk crate topbox on the Vespa!!!! Roomy, but may be not that secure!

Youd be amazed how much it'll hold, bungees keep bits from hopping out.
I'll be sorry when it goes on eBay next week, it's done me well for a 50.

Looks nice, and it always feels very nice to strike a bargain. Might soon get a SYM HD 200i myself.

I was looking at hd's, pcx & nmax's then this popped up at an unbelievable price.
It's got a new battery, had 200 spent recently, took me 20 minutes to get running & diagnosed.
Still looking at choke options, should of got something ordered today.

It has the same front brake and style of high fuel filler as the Joyride, both excellent features.

By having the brake caliper on the inside any water and dirt is thrown away from the caliper: which is a good thing and makes it last longer between services.

It gives more swept area & disc stiffness too apparently as a buell owning mate told me.
Ordered a choke so I'm hoping for a fully functional ped come Friday.

Right, new choke fitted so.its sorted the obvious issue with that but it's still bogging & cutting out. Anybody got any experience with sym 125s, air cooled gy6 motor.

It's like a fuel starvation issue but I've read the coil can cause similar, any truth in this ?

Cheers for any help [emoji106]
