I have some cheap waterproof overtrousers which I wear on my scooter. Well, when I say waterproof I mean not waterproof. On removing them I often discover a wet patch in my crotch area, which is pretty embarrassing.
So I'm looking for recommendations for some properly waterproof ones. They need to be able to slip over boots easily, and I want lightweight rather than heavy and lined.
What have you found works for you?

Re: Waterproof overtrousers recommendation
Mine are in the bike at the moment.
I'll get them out tomorrow; I can't remember the make - could be Regatta - but they are light-weight without being flimsy, have zips so one can get them on over boots easily and seem to be as totally waterproof as anything not rubber or plastic can be.
They keep me dry, even my nethers.

Re: Waterproof overtrousers recommendation
I use something like these... they are cheap and with the bib, stops the rain from seeping in between my trousers and jacket.

My ones are fishing overalls made by shimano but can't seem to find them on sale any more, they have side zippers at the boot end so you the slip over boots easy.

Spada 911 - 12 yrs...
Legs are normal length rather than supper long... so best to try...
As for ease of putting them on, try the carrier bag trick...
Boot / Foot in bag... bag slips easily down trouser... take bag off, on to other foot...
saves time, hopping about at the road side and keeps ya normal trousers clean from the wet of your boots getting on the inside of ya over trousers...

I'll have to remember "the carrier bag trick".
I carry a pair of waterproofs in each of my bikes top boxes and rain inevitably finds me hopping around from foot to foot outside the supermarket as I try to squeeze them over my boots while holding on to my wet bike..

The carrier bag trick is great, I use the actual bag the trousers came in.

Mine are Regatta XERT Performance trousers: Labelled 'Isotex 5000', lined, elasticated draw-string waist, longs zips with gussets on legs and a rubbery Velcro-fastening strap at the ankle, two pockets with zips.
They are very tough and fold up small.
If I every had to replace mine I'd do like-for-like.

Re: Waterproof overtrousers recommendation
Look for ones with zipable gussets in the calf area. They make it SO much easier to put them on in a hurry (ie when its pissing down) without taking boots off. Worth looking in places that do walking gear as well.

I've had a pair of Austrian Army fleece lined waterproof trousers, with full length side zips, perfect for the scoot. Thanks Ginger Phil for the remediation some years ago.

Re: Waterproof overtrousers recommendation
I also have the Regatta Packaway Over Trousers and as far as I am concerned they are great, only £12 and very flexible.
Mine allow me to zip UP from the foot to the waist AND DOWN from the waist to the foot.
