Re: Xmax 400 2018
Had another sit on at dealer today, the13.5 kg diff compared to my 2015 model was more noticeable, so with the leo can on would knock 18kg/40lbs off compared to my 2015 model!

300 v 400
Whats the difference in power?
But the real world difference... Whats the difference in torque?
What ya feel every time ya twist the throttle, in roll-on say from 10-30mph or 30 to 60mph...
Every day real world riding, like going up a hill...

Can't say I've ridden both but this review, posted on the new Xmax 300 review thread reckons the 400 isn't any better.

...which leads me to wonder I haven't received my copy of MCM this month? This one looks slightly more interesting than the last few editions which have been wastes of paper.

Assume you mean 400 will be quicker?XMax400Paul wrote:300 v 400

It's the 30-70 overtake that made me go from the 250 to 400. The MCM 300 review makes me think the 400 he was chasing was the old model. My 2015 model understeered terrible on twisties.
I would assume the '18 one with double fork clamps would cure this, my forks just flex to much if you go for it, 250 did the same.

Re: Xmax 400 2018
It used to be quite good, but seems to have sadly declined in relevance...it used to have quite good Maxi-scoot coverage but this has vanished entirely - this month's useful review of the Xmax 300 being the first scoot article for months.Meldrew wrote:You get that rubbish sent to you?

Re: Xmax 400 2018
Interesting review. I suppose it says it all that compared to the 300, the 400 has only 5 more bhp but weighs 35kg more! ...and its not the first review to mention dodgy handling or speed wobbles on the 400 I've read.StephenC wrote:Can't say I've ridden both but this review, posted on the new Xmax 300 review thread reckons the 400 isn't any better.

Re: Xmax 400 2018
Just got back from puncture repair, since posting earlier. Mechanic and owner ridden both, they say new 400 is what it should have been when it replaced Majesty, no wobblies. Both are more or less the same, but 300 is best for town/ occasional fast road, versa visa 400 for 70mph roads as more oomph for those 60-80 overtakes. I'm daily on A10.MrGrumpy wrote:Interesting review. Re: Xmax 400 2018
i was going to look at the xmax but they couldn't give me a date for release . so i bought the burger , and i'm very happy with it . now it's run in , it goes really well. and has quite a good surge when you want it . the only thing that is not perfect is the seat back pad thing. it's firm at the bottom so digs in a little . may with miles it may change , but i'd of prefered one like the old model, big and striaght up rather than the slope ones. didn't like the xmax 250 for that reason aswell..
Good friends don't let you do stupids thing alone .
