Enforced downsize!

Sadly after a lot of soul searching, the combination of old age and a semi successful hip replacement, I've had to concede that my beloved Sym Maxsym 400 is just too heavy and bulky. I have bitten the bullet and bought a new Honda pcx. Read and viewed all I can about them put would appreciate any tips or advice owners on here might have. Apart of course the inevitable brain recalibration!

Sold the Bergman about 4 years back and only had bikes since a MT-07 and a W 800
but arthritis is making clutch operation painful at time so like you I am looking at
buying something that will suit me better a X-max 300 looks interesting,
hope you have many more happy miles.

I've recently changed from a nc750x to a sh300 as a pelvis problem has set in as well as my dodgy knees. The pcx is a great lightweight scoot.this site might be helpful-

I`m another one falling to bits a little, so bought a silverwing for much lower seat height.

But to be honest, something like this might have been a good idea for me too.

I rarely, if ever go over 70 anyway, mainly 40-50 so a smaller scooter like this would easily do.

Hope you get much fun and ease of use out of it.

I have owned many quit quick bikes but to be honest have had more fun
on smaller ones though I do like something able to hold 70 on the M-way.
There's something about being able to use all the performance a bikes got
without frightening myself silly that I like.
One ride I will always remember is running flat out up the A5 I think it was
in Wales on the Burgman keeping up with much bigger bikes.

As long as your still enjoying yourself on the road who cares what size the engine is. iv'e gone from a 600 suzuki bandit to a honda Dylan 125 , and had the most fun i'd had in ages. an still did some biggish trips 102 mile round trip.. ok numb bum by time i got home , but it was ok...
also had a pcx and at the time it was perfect as light enough to get through the back gate an turn it round very easily....i used to just pick the back end up an walk it round ...lol...even as we speak i'm down sizing from an Nc750x to a 400 burgman . fingercrossed next saturday ....

of course you do Sir,so long as you can go on and still enjoy the riding does it matter what size engine or shape of machine...
Just keep on keeping on.... I was told once by an older guy when i told him at the time i was riding a big scoot
because of my duff leg, he said ..." two wheels is two wheels mate "
