Re: insurance
It's embarrassing, especially as Bennetts are a bike insurance specialist.

Re: insurance
I don't think I have ever been with the same insurer on consecutive years. Best price one year then try it on with a stupid price year 2, in the hope you forget auto renew. They are all about the same but for me Swinton are the Anti Christ!!!

Re: insurance
I've had this happen to me twice. First time was on a Satelis 250 ("no such bike listed but we do have the 125 and the 600") and then on the Xmax 300. I struggled with getting cover on both for quite a while.
But it's partly the fault of the importer. A new model has to be assessed by the industry to rate it and so they need access to the machine and the tech behind it (security stuff) before any insurance broker can insure it properly. Before that happens the broker may take a punt on rating it based on a similar machine but inevitably the result will be a lot higher premium than it really should be. If they are willing to cover it all, that is.
Lesson learned is: don't be an early adopter unless you are willing to have this aggro.
BTW - my solution with the Xmax was to pay the outrageous premium (based on a guess of it's likely rating) and then a month or two later cancelled the policy and bought a much cheaper one once it was properly assessed. I came out ahead on the deal

Yeah , but these days everything is these modern high tech computer systems where all info on anything is held on mega databases instantly available at the touch of a mouse, so why does it take info so long to reach insurance companies?? If someone had to send paper updates around the country, yes, it might take a while.

Aye, insurance companies turn the word loyalty into a joke. Their interpretation: MUG!
