I hope I've done this right. What do you think of this Lyn?
At least it keeps the extra protection of the almost enclosed chain guard.

Wow at £159 it's not cheap, but probably is the best so far at all round protection.

Givi have one on the site but not yet in manufacture..says add to wish list...but does show a picture.
Very similar to that one but the chain cover has to be removed as the hugger has full top chain cover so you loose the bottom,
and the bottom bit does a good job, so not keen to loose it. Plus £159 is way too much..the Givi is over the ton though.

But does it work? As I've mentioned I've put something very similar on the Tmax and its been a complete waste of time and money!

I had that type on a couple of machines and none ever worked very well, i have a 50p mud flap i made to stop the crap going over he rear shocker. That works perfectly well, the problem i think is where it is being flung from,,,it seems to come from the top of the tyre and gets sucked forward. I am thinking it must create vacuum/very low pressure area around the rear body work and that pulls the crap forward.. Yes Wozza that one does keep the chain cover intact.

Yep true. I had a hugger on my 700X DCT and that didn't work either......

So going by the replies it looks like rear huggers are more for style than any real substance.

I have too agree ,I have one on my srv and it made no real difference ,but I did an experiment by adding half a plastic mudguard to said hugger and it worked great .Basically a traditional mudguard does the trick .
