Re: Alloy bolts
I would not put Loctite/Threadlock on as you’ll never get them out again, put some copper grease (I know other types are available) on the threads and nip them up tight but not too tight or as suggested use stainless bolts again with copper grease on threads

Re: Alloy bolts
Yes that's right Dave. If you put locktite on alloy bolts they usually shear off when you try to get them out.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Alloy bolts
I never use Locktite on any of my bolts, but sometimes I'll smear a little Bostick (or other contact adhesive) onto the threads if I'm worried about it loosening off because of vibration. Because it doesn't set hard the bolts remove easily if a little more slowly, but I've never had one come loose or needed to drill one out.

Re: Alloy bolts
I use loctite blue 243 on some steel bolts that I really don't want to come undone, but in general if torqued up correctly they shouldn't come undone.
Also note that no bolt into plastic needs loctite as the plastic absorbs the vibration, which is why nyloc bolts use bits of nylon.
