JCB yellow

Post by smeghead »

Just watched a JCB digger doodah drive past the office. I'd like my Vespa painted the same colour.

Looks good but a bogger if you crash into a bowl of custard.

Waaay back someone I know used to for Unigate, the milk delivery people whose electric floats were painted a distinctive shade of orange. One day he turned up in his Granada mk1 in the same shade. Oh dear.

My advice? Don't do it!!!!

Let's go back to the 1970s! Cars were painted in all sorts of outrageous colours then...my very staid dad had a Renault 8S in a wonderful mustard Yellow, and an early Renault 5 in bright orange! (even the interior was orange to match the paintwork!). And there were peculiar purples and bronze colours as well.
I so HATE the current market where cars and scoots only come in black, Silver and 3 shades of grey!

Years ago I used to have a Ford Fiesta in "Peppermint Green". Now have a bright white Yeti. Unfortunately the Vespa is matt black - I'd like it bright yellow too, please.
2009 Burgman 400 in sunny Perranporth :D
Always seek the happy medium - she's out there, riding her scooter.

JCB yellow is VERY close to Ford Canary Yellow, if you're old enough think about Mk1 Escort

Not to be mistaken for the Dorset Yetties (from Yetminster)
