Re: Ordered my new X-Max 400 today!!
Was told not to use a polish as such on mine, as I may get it wrapped, and need to keep it grease free. May just keep it matte but dealer said just use Mr Sheen or Autoglym spray Showroom Shine if I want to keep matte. Have super resin polish so may try on hidden bits under seat. Full report on mine soon as have just clocked 1001 miles since picking up on 19 Dec.
Congrats on getting one, you will love it, the handling is like a m/bike and have been really giving a workout this week. Seat is good for 2 hours far comfier than my old xmax 400.

Re: Ordered my new X-Max 400 today!!
The TMax DX manual states that polishes intended for gloss surfaces should not be used on the matt areas. So I followed that and don't. I wash my DX with a car shampoo and then apply a matt protective product to the matt areas and gloss polish to the gloss cos it has both.
There's no problem at all in looking after the matt bits, you just need to use a specialised matt product. The one I have goes on very easily and just wipes off, the same action as using a wax polish on gloss. Takes no longer and is no harder work than polishing a gloss surface.
I have this one but there are probably others.

Re: Ordered my new X-Max 400 today!!
Yeah really looking forward to finding out the differences from my 2016 X-Max 400. And thanks for all the tips on cleaning the matte finish. Have read bits online about using baby shampoo etc. I have a garage full of endless cleaning products and just worried I end up damaging the finish.Congrats on getting one, you will love it, the handling is like a m/bike and have been really giving a workout this week. Looking forward to your 1000 mile review Raamsay! Hope it's all good!

Re: Ordered my new X-Max 400 today!!
I was just thinking about you Mac, moving on from Sym a few years ago and now on to a lovely looking Xmax. Although I can't quite recall the model - Joymax, was it?
The two rear LEDs are on the Xmax are head-turners - I had to admire them when an Xmax crossed a junction in front of me last week.
Your post-op going well Data?
