Now on 300 miles brakes have sorted themselves out front took over 250 miles but
now happy with them it's doing over 100 mpg running in best handling scooter I
have ever ridden I can see were Yamaha calling it a sport is coming from this thing
will be fun once it's run in.
I like it.

Just had the first service and got through that tedious 4.5k rpm run in period on my Xmax 300. Service guys say pretty much ok to used as normal now although manual says keep to within 5.4k rpm until 1000 miles.

Tbh that's not too bad - indicated 58mph at that rpm and the dual carriageway I ride is a 60 anyway. Just glad I can now use it on fast roads - back roads whilst scenic were covered in cack at this time of year!

Impressions of the bike after 600 miles - good:
Handling especially in the dry, comfort, weather protection, keyless ignition (surprisingly), storage, stability (really low centre of gravity - no need to put feet down unless stationary for more than a few seconds) and fuel economy - 95mpg for those first 600 miles.
Bad: lights (main beam only - rest are fine), occasionally rough bounce from rear over rough ground and I'm not 100% confident of the grip in the wet but that's probably just me - same on a mountain bike when it rains!

Now at 400 miles hope to get the service done next week, brakes are now good
rained for the last 24 hours so no riding today.
Don't know if they all have the same but mine has Michelins they seem good.

Can't remember what tyres I had fitted when I got the bike - I have winter tyres on and the other set are waiting for me at an independent dealer for when the temps get above10C average.

Just had my first service on the J300 this morning..free oil filter when you fill in the online form with kwakasaki..hissing down when i went out at 0745 this morning. Bike given a good cleaning yesterday as well, looked as if i had never washed the thing by i got to the dealer...same again when i got back, so i hosed it down and put it away until the rain stopped. I have just been out to give it another wash...so now i too can up the revs a bit more...not that the service matters much as i do my own thing any way

Roads are filthy at the moment having to stick the hose on it every ride
the salt on the roads eats the ally on the bike if not washed off, roll on summer.

Does not rust but you will be surprised the mess road salt makes of ally
wash it off with cold water and a bit of car shampoo. though the X-max
does seem to have a good quality coating over the ally I will keep washing
it off.
