Only 400 I have ridden recently was a 2010 Burgman I didn’t notice any difference in power but the 300 corners much better, I think the new 400 Yam has about 5 bhp more but is heavier so I doubt there’s much in it only way really is to see if you can blag back to back test rides

I think it'll be easy to predict: 300 equal or slightly better than the 400 from a standing start, but the 400 will pull harder once moving and even more noticeable difference when needing to overtake from higher speeds.

Still worth remembering that the 300 has a bluecore engine while the 400 does not so whereas the 300 will be averaging high 90s mpg, the 400 will likely still be down in the 70s at best.

I test rode the 400 as there were no 300s in any demo fleet near me.

I now have the 300 with 2200 miles on it. Hard to remember what the 400 felt like but the 300 easily does an indicated 80 and is more than enough for my needs. As mentioned it's also very economical high 80s when my commute was one a road. High 90s at present when riding on single carriage way nationals.

Tempted to change from my nc, I've had it a year now! Roads and trials Barnsley offered a great deal on xmax 300 which looks great in blue, but nobody seems to have a demo....

But... the Forza 300 is just a month away (possibly) and it's main beam may not be useless.

Not an issue if you never ride on unlit roads but the Xmax LED main beam is not fit for purpose. This would seriously put me off getting another, even though almost everything about the scooter is excellent.

Jury is still out for me re the Xmax lights I had mine aimed higher but still not ridden it at night though I can see the light on the road if i ride in a shaded area, the main beem seems odd as it does not seem to be any higher yet lights up things a good 300 yards away yet I am still not convinced they will be any good on the road at night.

So I wonder, how many riders who moan like fuck about being blinded by poorly adjusted lights of other road users are guilty of commiting the same offence

Problem is that many riders never dip their lights they seem to believe it is safer to blind people than use dip beam going off were mine are aimed they could go higher yet and not blind anyone and I only use high beam when nothing is coming the other way they were set on a beam tester to the correct height so must have been low from new.

I reckon they should have stayed with projector lights Lyn, but they are not as can-bus 'friendly' as LED
