Have any Xmax 300 owners fitted an Optimate lead?
If so where do you route the cable out?

Not done it but was thinking of running one into the right hand glove box by drilling a hole in the back.

Mine is fitted in the right hand glove box but I did not need to drill a hole. There was a rubber tapered bung with a flat head on it . At first I thought it was to adjust the headlight as there was also one in the left glove box. After a gentle twist and pull it came out reviling a hole.

Relatively easy. Battery above headlights and behind a bit of fairing on my 2014 X Max 250. Twenty minutes tops for the job.

Re: New Xmax 300
Not sure it’s possible because I don’t have my Xmax 300 yet.....Errr... don't you just plug the supplied Optimate lead into the 12v socket in the left hand glovebox and charge/top up/maintain the battery that way
Some 12v power outlets only work when the Ignition is turned on

Re: New Xmax 300
The plug in the left side is only live with ign or with the switch in the open position so don’t think it will work

Re: New Xmax 300
Very few scoots have 12v power output sockets that are live without the ignition on.
Re: New Xmax 300
Well i got round to fitting the optimate lead yesterday and as suggested i routed the cable from the battery into the right hand glove box.The glove box is only held in by three screws so i cut a small section out of the back and my lead was just long enough to fit through. As well as taking the front panel off i also removed the screen as it just gave more room to connect the leads to the battery.
Regarding the cutting of the glove box there is a small section that can be cut with a sharp stanley knife and theres is no need to drill.
