At this time of year I heat the panel first with a hairdryer or similar to make it less brittle.

Notice when he comes round to the left side were he gets his fingers under the top near the ears were the screw was,
he pulls the plastic out at 90% to the scooter, just being there is a tab that has to come out about a inch at 90%
then the panel will slides down and off.
After the panel is removed you can see a row of oblong holes along the top edge the tabs as to come out of there before
you can slide it down.

At what point do you become stuck ?
I have found access to my battery fairly simple compared to changing a headlight bulb.
This is headlight bulb change.

Have finally got it off thanks, with the aid of a big screwdriver and brute force - hate doing that, but needs must...
It was the white plastic plugs at the very top; WAY tighter than fingers could shift.
Re-assembly is simple, thanks!
And needless to say, the battery was fine and needed no attention... :roll:

Xmax 300 (2018) headlight adjustment.
I managed to successfully adjust the headlights on my 2018 Xmax 300 yesterday.
You need an 8mm spanner and alot of patience. The tricky part is finding the adjustment bolt and getting/ keeping the spanner in place.
I put the bike on the centerstand, with the wheel straight (this seemed to give the most space to get the spanner in place).
The adjustment bolt is located just above the high beam light (see photo).
You will have to feel around a bit too locate it (keep trying...you will find it). Once the spanner is on the bolt, you will only be able to turn it approx 1/4 turn each time before the spanner fouls on the bike.
I marked the light position on the garage door before adjusting. The bike was approx. 50cm away from the garage door. I raised the light by approx 1cm from the marked starting position. After adjusting, I stood about 20ft away from the bike and looked at the lights and they didn't look any different (certainly didn't dazzle me).
I rode the bike to work this morning at 7am. What a difference it made! I could see where I was going!!!. Nobody flashed me so I am assuming I didn't dazzle anyone and it didn't shine in anyone's mirrors either.
Not sure if it would pass an MOT but I don't care....I can see where I am going and I can always adjust it back for the MOT.
I'm not sure if there is any further adjustment left but it is enough for me. The high beam is still rubbish though.
It is well worth the effort and has transformed riding the bike in the dark on unlit roads.
Massive thanks to whoever found the eBay photo of the headlight...I couldn't have made the adjustment without it (sorry but I can't remember their name).

You and me both, my third is behaving but for how long I don't know,
it is likely to be out of warranty if it goes again but I have access to
a discount on EBC stuff and will fit one of theirs if it does go.

Strange how most don't seem to have a problem at all yet a few are
having problems.

Greetings all. Having ridden my XMax through (most) of the winter its high time I fitted heated grips or muffs. Has anyone got either of these fitted - ideally the official Yamaha parts - and if so, are they any good? I have decent gloves but not enough to keep the fingers toasty...

I've had them on other bikes but not the X-max,
they worked well, one thing to note is the X-max does
not have as big a alternator output as many modern bikes
I would think a pair of grips would be well within it,s
capacity but a heated jacket may be getting near it,s limit.
