Thanks for those kind words Bern. Makes me feel slightly less boring :geek:

Best part of the job is I occasionally get to play with amazing machinery - like piloting military helicopters, racing planes and stuff :). It’s a great job.

I look a complete dummy next to some of the specialists I get to meet and get jealous of other people’s riding/flying/spannering or time-served craftsman skills or whatever.

If somebody talks down or belittles somebody it is generally because they don’t know as much as they are making out - people who can do stuff don’t need to make a big deal out of it.

Just look at the people on here - Lyn (Kayz1) and Data have serious knowledge and spannering skills, Horobags has experience on more bikes than most people have ever heard of, Syntec4 is a proper craftsman (and photographer) funky and Mottza do tech wizadry and loads of others. Never heard any of them drag down other people to try and look good.

We’ve got some great people on here

He seems to have changed his mind somewhat, post form last night ....

"Berp

An out of balance Tire-Wheel assembly does not lift the vehicle several times a second, As you have implied in your comments. It compresses and extends the suspension members several times a second"

Scootypuff, he seems to thiink it's clever to change me from Bern to Berp, Admin on there are not so amused & have awarded him his 'first strike' for that.

Sport bikes are short with a high resonant frequency but lower wheel rpm due to the wheel being larger.

Scooters are long with a low resonant frequency but the smaller wheels spin faster for a given speed.
That means the scooter has more chance of the wheel frequency and frame frequency coinciding and exciting a weave (rear end wobble).
High resonant frequency? Wheel frequency and frame frequency colliding and exciting a weave? Way too scientific for me. My brain hurts!

It's twice as long as half its length. :D :D

Fucking excellent

Along the lines of :-
The pessimist says 'it's half full'

The optimist says 'it's half empty'

The engineer says .....................

It's twice the size it needs to be
Just to correct you

Pessimist "My glass is half empty"
Optimist "My glass is half full"
Pragmatist "Whose round is it?"

Well remembered bud :D (I'd completely forgotten about that  ) wish I could remember more of the gems that were told during tea breaks at the 'Basic Engineering Workshop Practice' course I did back in the day.
