He was a nice guy, had a Ducati Diavel and was restoring another old scoot. He chucked money at the Tmax do get it to go as well as it could as he loved it. If i had it as a toy, I wouldn't have changed anything either, as its an absolute hoot on the B roads, but as a commuter in Londons heavby traffic, its not the best set up to have.

I cant own a bike without playing around with it in one way or another, so I'm really enjoying adapting it to suit me. 8-)

Just been out for a quick ride on it. Its much better, yet not that much difference! Still very responsive to the throttle but with a light twist of the throttle, it will pull away at 3-4k and not 4.5-5.5k. Just a bit calmer when you want it to be. :)

im looking at getting the malossi variator kit for my runner, will keep an eye out for how well your one does you and i may invest in one.

I'm not sure the variators are worth the extra cash to be honest. If there is a change in ramp plate angle, then i think i'd be surprised if anyone could notice it. I think you're better off just changing the OEM variator weights for lighter ones, preferably Dr Pulley sliders.
