He was a nice guy, had a Ducati Diavel and was restoring another old scoot. He chucked money at the Tmax do get it to go as well as it could as he loved it. If i had it as a toy, I wouldn't have changed anything either, as its an absolute hoot on the B roads, but as a commuter in Londons heavby traffic, its not the best set up to have.
I cant own a bike without playing around with it in one way or another, so I'm really enjoying adapting it to suit me.
I cant wait to get rid of the Malossi variator!

Just been out for a quick ride on it. Its much better, yet not that much difference! Still very responsive to the throttle but with a light twist of the throttle, it will pull away at 3-4k and not 4.5-5.5k. Just a bit calmer when you want it to be.

im looking at getting the malossi variator kit for my runner, will keep an eye out for how well your one does you and i may invest in one.

I'm not sure the variators are worth the extra cash to be honest. If there is a change in ramp plate angle, then i think i'd be surprised if anyone could notice it. I think you're better off just changing the OEM variator weights for lighter ones, preferably Dr Pulley sliders.
