Went to look at a new T MAX found it far to big and heavy for me,.
I bought Suzuki Bergman 400 20 12 model in showroom condition will do for a bit
And insurance was cheaper £134

Good choice. I've had two of them, and I would have had another but I wanted a bit more power. So I had a Maxsym 600.

I wouldn't have thought that a Burger 400 (esp 2012 model) would be much lighter than a Tmax, and its as huge as the Burgman 650! Whatever floats your boat of course....

Its hell of a lot lighter than the t max, I couldn't push the t max around around neither could I touch the ground with my feet,the Burgman is a lot lower and def easy to push around

Wet weights quoted by makers for the current models:

Suzuki Burgman 400 215kg
Yamaha TMax (basic model) 213kg (DX model 216kg)

So the basic T is actually marginally lighter. Of course there are many other considerations to choosing a bike such as seat height as mentioned, but on weight the Burg loses. Looking at it approximately as I'd guess people generally do, you could say they're both around the same weight.

I'd say also that the ease with which a bike can be pushed about is influenced to some extent by its weight distribution and other factors like length, width, height etc. as well as its absolute weight.

The Yam rival to the Burg 400 is more likely the XMax 400 than the TMax. The XMax weighs 210kg so a little lighter than the Suz.

Interesting...I suspected as much. Though of course, older Tmaxs might weigh a little more, but the current Burger 400 is somewhat more svelte than the previous model. Some older Tmaxs (especially ones with the chain drive) have a bit of sticktion in the drive train which doesn't help pushing it around, though the new one moves very easily. Seat height is undoubtedly somewhat higher on the Tmax - especially latest model.

Tmax is very tall I couldn't touch ground and one I was looking was T MAX DX new
so burger is a lot lower ,only X MAX in shop were 125,s
if I don't like burger after a while I ,ll trade it,.in like Horrowbags.
I think best scooter I had was the Piaggio E VO but no made which is one I came on, at ride to leek resevior with ugly bunch, but had to leave because wife was ill,

Keith, I think you will get on with the burgman fine. They are a great allround scoot. Fast enough, comfy, and lots of space for luggage. Post some pics when you get it.
